The reason behind our work
- 2014 — 2017
- The early years
In 2014, Sasitharan entered the call-centre industry and began working in binary trading sales, where he first met Riyaan Ahmed. Between 2015 and 2016 they moved into Forex call centres and worked with several non-regulated brokers — handling customer complaints from people on unsafe platforms.
What they saw was a clear pattern: most traders did not understand why regulation matters. Even when they tried to explain regulated brokers and their rules, traders were not convinced. Brokers focused on sales, not education. Review sites ranked brokers by affiliate payouts, not by safety.

When trading scams surged during the pandemic, Sasitharan and Riyaan started TradingCritique with one simple idea: Regulation First helps traders stay safe. They built a 50-point scoring system with proper regulatory checks. The project was self-funded from day one — no outside investment, no paid rankings, no hidden sponsorships shaping what readers see.
Riyaan handles broker partnerships and business development. Sasitharan leads editorial direction, broker scoring, and overall site strategy. Six years on, that division still defines how the platform runs.
Our goal is to rate 200+ brokers using our TC Rating methodology — a trusted platform where every score is based on something verifiable.

Regulation first
Regulation has the most direct impact on how well a trader’s money is protected. Features, spreads, and platforms can look appealing, but they don’t carry the same weight without proper oversight.

We rate brokers by the services they actually provide — not by holding every broker to a single standard. A CFD broker is meant to work differently from an investment platform, and our scoring reflects that.

Primary sources only
Reviews are built from regulator registers, official broker disclosures, and credible financial reporting. We avoid relying on other sites — every detail can be verified against a trusted source.

Transparency in earnings
We may earn commission through affiliate links when readers sign up. Those relationships do not influence how we rate brokers. Scoring stays consistent across partners and non-partners alike.
